Facilities and Environment
The school provides a welcoming and modern environment, which is well resourced to support children’s learning. A central hall provides a space for whole school assemblies and class PE sessions. Our Learning Centre is well stocked with a wide range of books and is used for small group learning and as an area where children can read at playtimes. Each of our classrooms provides an organised and child centred space for learning, including interactive whiteboards, access to laptops and/or ipads and a range of other high quality resources.
The school’s outside environment includes a well sized playground and field, which are supplemented by a dedicated outdoor learning area for our Foundation children, a sensory garden, a raised bed courtyard garden for growing fruit and vegetables, an adventure playground, pond, shepherd’s hut, chicken house and an ancient settlement, including an iron age hut. In addition to these areas, we also have a school woodland, which provides a home to a range of wildlife, including a badger set, foxes, a range of bird species and the school’s two bee hives. The extensive opportunities that our outside grounds provide are used to support children’s learning across a range of curriculum areas.
