Learning Heroes

In order to become successful learners, children need to develop other skills, such as resilience, effective teamwork, self-reflection, the propensity to inquire effectively and the ability to think in a caring way – we refer to these underlying skills as ‘dispositions for learning’. As a result, the school has developed five child friendly characters, called ‘Learning Heroes’, each of which represents a key disposition. When they join Rushcombe First School, your child will become familiar with the Learning Heroes and will continue to utilise them throughout their time at the school, supporting them across all aspects of their learning.

Through the use of our Learning Heroes, we aim for children to develop the necessary dispositions to enable them to become successful, lifelong learners.
